Exceptional
Craftsmanship

Stonefruit Studio is a brainchild of mine to blend high quality small work with good design and personal relationships. By keeping things small I can give each task and project the focus and attention I want to bring. Even a project as small as hanging curtains requires thought, precision, and skill. I am a fully licensed general contractor and I am bonded, and insured. That doesn’t mean your project is too small. Let me know what you are looking for and I will do my best to help.
A little about me: I studied applied math and engineering at Berkeley and became a general contractor specializing the restoration of architecurally significant homes in the Bay Area for 15 years. My company restored homes built by Julia Morgan, Maybeck, H.H. Gutterson, Ratcliff and many others. I fell in love with woodwork and archectural restoration the first time I saw the Gamble House in Pasadena.
As the years went by, due to the scale and complexity of our work, I became less involved in the craft and more focused on running the business and dealing with municipalities. In 2016 I closed the construction company due to not being connected enough to the craft and overly connected to the computer. In 2018 my wife and I and our 3 boys moved to El Dorado Hills to make access ot the Sierra's easier and get out of the rat race in the Bay Area. Insert pandemic here. Now I have a home based shop where I am loving woodworking for people who appreciate the craft and I do small projects for people who need skilled work done.
